SISAL ROPE- 24mm BUY BY THE METRE new & unused

THIS ROPE IS 25 + mm in DIAMETER
natural fibre rope measurements are only
approx due to the nature of the material
If fitting through holes it is advisable to wait until
the rope arrives before drilling any holes. This 25mm diameter Sisal rope is new and unused and is NOT treated so is ideal for inside, outside or pet use. It is available in any length and has a diameter of 25+mm .It is ideal for many uses including heavy-duty tow rope, decorative and general garden work as it is both hard wearing and weather resistant with no stretch and good resistance to sunlight. For outside use it can be treated annually with linseed oil to protect it further.. It is a light straw colour.
As this is natural fibre there can be colour and size variations between different coils and sometimes even in the same coil. The colour may vary from light cream to dark straw and will often change again due to sunlight etc.
ropes made from natural fibres (manila, coir, sisal etc) will shrink in length when moisture is present.
When natural fibres come into contact with moisture (rain, dew, immersion, humidity etc) the fibres absorb water causing them to swell. The expansion of the width of the fibre causes the length to shrink.
There is no exact formula as it depends on two main factors, namely how wet the rope gets and which natural fibre is being used. We would suggest adding a minimum of 10% to your measurements though and then erring on the side of caution.
Do not try and pre-shrink or wet the rope before fitting.
The rope should be placed in situ (without securing it) and left for several days allowing the shrinkage to occur naturally.
Ropes made from natural fibres are often generous in size whilst those made from synthetic fibres tend to be fairly accurate.
